Last year, in the midst of pandemic chaos, UNITE-LA and many of you, our partnering organizations, had the foresight to recognize the bleak outlook for our youth as items like the digital divide and racial inequities grew larger and louder. Guided by our mission, UNITE-LA's Policy team made sure our local and state leaders were putting the needs of the unserved and underserved first. The $262.6 billion budget passed by the California legislature and signed by Gov. Newsom includes record spending on programs that will provide a path to equitable opportunities for all Californians. We are proud of our work and of those who joined us in ensuring a more just, equitable and economically successful future for all.
