UNITE-LA is pleased to share that Kelly Reynolds, director of Education and Workforce Strategy & Policy at UNITE-LA, has been appointed as vice chair of the Education and Workforce Development Committee for the Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA).

On Dec. 8, UNITE-LA joined the Downtown L.A. Walking Tour hosted by the Select Committee on Downtown Revitalization, alongside Assemblymembers Matt Haney and Mark Gonzalez, representatives from Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove’s office and Councilmember Isabel Jurado.

On Thursday, Dec. 4, UNITE-LA hosted its final Education Means Business webinar of 2025 that focused on the state of early care and education amid budget cuts and financial challenges at the federal and state levels.

UNITE-LA had the pleasure of engaging in the California Economic Summit, which was attended by Gov. Gavin Newsom as well as several of the gubernatorial candidates.

From Oct. 21-23, UNITE-LA joined the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) for the Secure America’s Workforce Fly-In in Washington, D.C., where nearly 200 employers from agriculture, hospitality, health care, construction and education sectors from across the nation came together to advocate for bipartisan immigration solutions.

Last month, UNITE-LA's Sonia Campos-Rivera and Jasmin Sakai-Gonzalez joined Abby Raisz of the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, to present findings from UNITE-LA’s Business Perspectives on Immigrant Talent and Economic Growth report alongside the Council’s newly released immigration report at the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce’s 46th Annual Convention in Pomona.

Last month, UNITE-LA's Sonia Campos-Rivera, senior vice president, Policy & Public Affairs, presented findings from UNITE-LA’s Business Perspectives on Immigrant Talent and Economic Growth report to the New California Coalition at their partner meeting alongside the Bay Area Council Economic Institute.

In August, UNITE-LA's Edgar Castillo, senior manager, Workforce Development Policy and Systems, spoke before the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee to request their support in signing the National Skills Coalition’s Business Leaders United Appropriations sign-on letter.

Last month, UNITE-LA and partners from RALLY had the opportunity to spotlight the significant economic impact of child care in our region and to elevate the Golden State for Kids Campaign at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce’s Education and Workforce Committee meeting.
