UNITE-LA understands the importance of strengthening working relationships with ethnic and minority business partners that break down barriers and build up the economy. As such, UNITE-LA met with the President of the Coalition of Filipino American Chambers of Commerce (COFACC) last month.

UNITE-LA participated in the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce's member event, The Power of Business Summit, hosted at the Santa Monica Brew Works in Santa Monica last month, which brought together more than 150 small businesses for an insightful and collaborative event.

UNITE-LA participated in the California African American Chamber of Commerce Summit where we connected with key partners and elected officials in discussions focused on closing racial gaps across the California economy and celebrating the tremendous contributions of African American businesses.

We are pleased to share that UNITE-LA has activated partnerships with new business organizations: the Los Angeles Business Council and the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce.

This month's partner spotlight belongs to the California African American Chamber of Commerce (CAAACC). As California’s largest statewide, Black chamber organization, their educational and advocacy programs are directly in line with the work of UNITE-LA. The CAAACC drives equitable public policies that expand access to economic opportunities and level the playing field for African American businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as the African American community overall.

UNITE-LA was proud to partner and support California Forward and the California Stewardship Network in the development of their annual California Economic Summit, an ongoing movement to make the government and economy work for everyone. The annual, two-day summit was designed to create a shared economic agenda, discuss the Roadmap to Shared Prosperity and set the stage for collective action in the coming year.

UNITE-LA recently proudly partnered with Talent Rewire and the San Diego Workforce Partnership to bring the Employer Action Lab approach to Southern California employers.

On Aug. 1, UNITE-LA was pleased to co-host a Regional Energy Policy Convening, in partnership with CA FWD, focused on the opportunities, barriers and resources needed to make energy independence and reliability a reality.

Earlier this year, UNITE-LA held its inaugural Business Interest Policy Survey to gauge business organizations' policy interests around cradle-through-career Education & Workforce Development (EDWD).

President of UNITE-LA, Alysia Bell, has been voted into the position of Co-Vice Chair for the California Stewardship Network (CSN) 2023 Executive Committee. Alysia will hold the position for the next two years.
