This month’s partner spotlight belongs to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). CSAC has been a steadfast partner of UNITE-LA since our founding, working together to ensure L.A. area students have equitable access to financial aid information and abundant opportunities to complete applications to claim aid. Through our L.A. Cash for College partnership, we annually serve thousands of students and families in filling out the FAFSA or CADAA and providing scholarships and educational materials. As fierce advocates for students across the state, CSAC has also led in the development and equitable changes to financial aid programs that we are proud to support and encourage our partners to do the same. This month’s partner spotlight belongs to the Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges with a huge thank you to Kelly King (Executive Director of the Foundation and Chief Advancement Officer for the District) for graciously organizing and sponsoring the Supporting L.A.'s Parenting College Students event held at L.A. Valley College’s Family Resource Center in May.

UNITE-LA congratulates California Forward (CA FWD) for naming Kate Gordon as its new CEO. We look forward to partnering closely with Gordon, as UNITE-LA continues its work with CA FWD and its affiliate, the California Stewardship Network (CSN).

This month, UNITE-LA is excited to spotlight Quality Start Los Angeles (QSLA), who works to empower early learning providers to build upon and improve the quality of care they provide to children ages birth to five. Through our partnerships with QSLA on the "Two Languages, Twice the Opportunities" campaign, we continue to uplift the power and importance of multilingual education in our diverse community.

UNITE-LA is proud to be a part of this initiative. By working with QSLA, we aim to empower early learning providers, support families, and help create a community where all children have a quality start in life. UNITE-LA is proud to collaborate with the CSU Long Beach team in a number of ways, including through our early care and education work at Educare, our regional K-16 Collaborative work, and in our service on the Five-Year Strategic Planning Ad-Hoc Committee of the City of Los Angeles’ Workforce Development Board.
