Temporary Senior Grants Manager

 

Position Overview:

UNITE-LA seeks an organized, proactive temporary grants manager to help provide capacity with grant proposals and reports over a four-month period. This is a short-term, temporary position beginning in January 2026 and ending on March 31, 2026.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing & Reporting
    • Draft and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and interim/final reports for foundation, corporate, and government funders for proposals $100,000 and under.
    • Support the development of proposal narratives, budgets, and attachments in collaboration with program and finance teams.
    • Maintain and update a calendar of grant deadlines and deliverables.
    • Ensure timely submission of all grant-related materials.
  • Grant Compliance & Project Management
    • Assist in tracking public and private grant deliverables, including outcomes and reporting requirements.
    • Coordinate access to online portals for financial and narrative reporting.
    • Maintain organized files and documentation for all grants.
  • Prospect Research
    • Conduct research to identify and qualify new grant prospects, especially government and public funding opportunities.
    • Prepare prospect profiles and track opportunities in the CRM system.
  • External Relations & Stewardship Support
    • Monitor strategic partnership opportunities and assist with related communications.
    • Assist with stewardship and recognition of donors through newsletters, social media and email

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Grant-writing: Demonstrated skills leading grant proposals with a team, including development out project goals and objectives.
  • Report-writing: Demonstrated experience working with a team to submit timely grant reports to illustrate project impact.
  • Project Management: Proficient in developing work plans to monitor program progress, ensuring milestones are met and objectives are achieved.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiar with CRM and project management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana), utilizing these platforms to track progress and manage tasks efficiently.

 

Compensation and Position Details:

This is a temporary full-time, exempt position with a starting monthly salary of $6,000-$6,500. The full range for this position is $6,000-$7,437 monthly, paid on a bi-weekly basis. If you are offered a position at UNITE-LA, your final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant skills, experience and/or education. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Temporary employees are ineligible for UNITE-LA’s benefits package, with the exception of the accrual of sick time pursuant to California Labor Code §246. Temporary employees are also eligible to participate in UNITE-LA’s 401(k) program once eligibility requirements are met.
