UNITE-LA Today: Report Puts Cost of Youth Workforce Programs at Forefront

UNITE-LA’s Workforce Systems Team worked with the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) on a research study for the past year to assess the full cost needs of youth workforce programs in Los Angeles.

Last month, to launch the report, Uncovering the Full Cost of L.A. Youth Workforce Development Programs, NFF did a live, YouTube release to discuss the report and showcase a video highlighting voices from workforce program staff and young people. The video includes UNITE-LA’s Senior Vice President of Systems Change Strategy, Carrie Lemmon, and partners at UCLA, CRCD and Para Los Niños. In addition to Los Angeles, a national conversation is underway regarding the urgent need for sustainable youth workforce development programs as workforce development efforts play a critical role in sustaining local economies while equipping our youth with the skills, resources and support to build meaningful careers and connections.
