West Region Executive for Public Engagement, JPMorgan Chase
Ali Tarzi leads the Corporate Responsibility team’s regional equity and inclusion market strategies. His work focuses on affordable housing, financial empowerment, workforce development and supporting underserved small businesses. With more than 18 years of experience spanning both the private and nonprofit sectors, Tarzi specializes in cross-sector collaboration, particularly in community development.
Based in Los Angeles, Tarzi plays a pivotal role in representing JPMorgan Chase at key boards and roundtables across the region, including the JPMorgan Chase Los Angeles Market Leadership Committee, the San Diego County Reinvestment Task Force, and the University of Southern California’s Social Innovation Lab.
Before joining JPMorgan Chase, Tarzi served as Vice President of Programs at Community HousingWorks, a San Diego-based affordable housing developer. In this role, he was instrumental in deploying HUD and CDBG funded programs to address the needs of underserved communities in San Diego and supported the operations of the company’s CDFI capital programs. His advocacy extended to national committees and working groups at NeighborWorks America and Unidos US.
A first-generation American from Afghanistan, Tarzi was raised in San Diego and is currently living in Los Angeles. He holds a Master in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Sector Management from California State University, Northridge.
