Bringing Credential Transparency to the Forefront

Credential Seeker Representatives

Date:  Friday, March 22

Time:  1:00pm - 3:30pm

Location:  L.A. Area Chamber, 350 Bixel, L.A. 90017

UNITE-LA, the Center for Education Excellence and Talent Development of the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Credential Engine is leading regional efforts to bring transparency to the credentialing marketplace by harnessing technology to make information on degrees, certifications, licenses, badges, apprenticeships, and other types of educational and occupation-related credentials available to the public. We are working to ensure all credentials offered in the L.A. area are available through an online registry to provide students, job-seekers, employers, and other key stakeholders the data to make informed decisions about investing in education, training, and hiring. At this convening, we invite representatives from L.A. area agencies and organizations working with credential seekers to learn more about the project and weigh in on its strategic direction.

The convening will include:

  • information about the Credential Engine project, a platform that will help credential seekers and employers learn about and compare credentials offered in the L.A. area;
  • sample use cases for this data and a reflection from a workforce development practitioner in another state that has implemented an online credential registry; and
  • a discussion to understand existing priorities and efforts at your institution relevant to this project, questions and concerns you might have at this stage, and your feedback on the next steps.

To learn more, please contact Heddy Nam, Director of Talent Development at [email protected].

Lunch and refreshments will be provided and parking will be validated prior to your departure.
