In September, thanks to the incredibly hard work of so many of our partners, Gov. Newsom signed Senate Bill 1383 (Jackson), ensuring millions of Californians can utilize Paid Family Leave benefits they pay for without the fear of job loss. We are proud to report that our President & CEO, David Rattray, was a member of the Governor's Paid Family Leave Taskforce, and this legislation was one of the group's recommendations. This new law will protect families when taking the time needed to be with their loved ones during life's most important times. We believe this is a critical component in contributing to the foundation of an equitable CA. As mentioned above, UNITE-LA's VP of Policy & Public Affairs, Sonia Campos-Rivera’s, OpEd in L.A.
