Administrative & Communications Coordinator

 

Position Overview

The Administrative & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in providing comprehensive project management support to drive the success of the Systems Change team's diverse portfolios, encompassing K-12, postsecondary, and workforce initiatives. This position is designed for an individual with a strong background in project management and coordination across initiatives with both internal teams and external stakeholders; database and information-systems management; and creating and managing diverse communications that capture impact and accomplishments, through newsletters, social media posts, data dashboards, press releases, weekly all-staff updates, and email correspondence. Reporting to the Director of Education Systems Strategy within UNITE-LA's Systems Change team, the Administrative & Communications Coordinator collaborates closely with a team of seven staff to support stakeholder management with education, workforce, and community-based organizations to drive forward various collaboratives dedicated to bridging equity gaps for Los Angeles area students.

UNITE-LA is hiring three Career Specialist positions, one each in the following sectors: Cleantech, Health Care, and Tech. Please read the details carefully of this job description, as well as application details below.

The Career Specialist, Cleantech will directly support the organization’s mission to drive more equitable and inclusive employment outcomes for prioritized populations in the cleantech industry, with a focus on placing OYA in living wage, sustainable jobs in green career pathways. The position will work to cultivate and grow relationships with existing and new employers and professional business organizations in the cleantech industry. The position will also work directly with employers to support their talent development needs, including developing internship programs, apprenticeships, entry level and living wage jobs that lead to high mobility careers in the cleantech industry for our OYA.

The Career Specialist, Health Care will directly support the organization’s mission to drive more equitable and inclusive employment outcomes for opportunity adults in the health care industry, with a focus on placing OYA in living wage, sustainable jobs in green and blue career pathways. The position will work to cultivate and grow relationships with existing and new employers and professional business organizations in the health care industry. The position will work directly with employers to support their talent development needs, including developing internship programs, apprenticeships, entry level and living wage jobs that lead to high mobility careers in the health care industry.

The Career Specialist, Tech will directly support the organization’s mission to drive more equitable and inclusive employment outcomes for opportunity adults in the tech industry, with a focus on placing OYA in living wage, sustainable jobs in green and blue career pathways. The position will work to cultivate and grow relationships with existing and new employers and professional business organizations in the tech industry. The position will work directly with employers to support their talent development needs, including developing internship programs, apprenticeships, entry level and living wage jobs that lead to high mobility careers in the tech industry.
