The Associate Director, Workforce Development Programs functions within UNITE-LA’s Programs team and reports to the Senior Vice President, Programs and Talent Development. The position will be responsible for the management of the following key areas of work:
Program Alignment & Management: This position will (a) oversee the strategic alignment of college and career readiness programming, (e.g., Cash for College) and workforce development programs (e.g., Career Pathways Programs); and (b) directly manage the continued growth of workforce development programs focused on cultivating a local talent pipeline inclusive of the region’s diverse and underrepresented populations. This work will be led with an emphasis on building alliances with postsecondary institutions, including the region’s 19 community colleges to connect graduating students with jobs and living wage careers in high-growth, high demand industries (e.g., healthcare and technology).
Project Management: This position will work collaboratively with and help provide leadership to the Programs team to provide project management for ALL programming, including the development of a comprehensive and integrated work plan to support the implementation of programming and the comprehensive tracking of Angelenos served.
Development Management & Funder Cultivation: This position will (a) expand funder relationships and support the cultivation of key funders, (b) manage and track the progress of existing grants and deliverables, and (c) support the programmatic-related narrative development for grant applications and reports.

The Senior Manager, Business Engagement functions within UNITE-LA’s Programs team and reports to the Senior Vice President, Programs and Talent Development. The position will be responsible for the management of the following key areas of work:
Business Engagement: This position will lead the development of a strategic employer and industry engagement plan in support of ALL workforce programs and talent development initiatives.
Program Management: This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the new Cleantech Careers Academy, including programming and partner engagement to advance academy goals and outcomes.
Development Management & Funder Cultivation: This position will (a) expand funder relationships and support the cultivation of key funders for the Avantus Cleantech Career Academy and (b) support the programmatic-related narrative development for STEAM grant applications and reports.

The K-16 Collaborative Sr. Manager will provide staffing support and guidance to UNITE-LA and partners through project management, strategy development, and technical assistance for a new Los Angeles Regional K-16 Collaborative. This opportunity is made possible by a state grant that brings together more than two dozen regional higher education institutions, K-12 districts, and employers to build stronger pathways for L.A. students beginning in high school and going through college to a fruitful career. UNITE-LA, acting as regional convener for the collaborative, will engage partners in developing a countywide strategy that supports traditional, nontraditional, and special populations, emphasizing BIPOC and historically underserved students.
The Sr. Manager will be a key member of the convening team, with a strong knowledge of and experience in education systems in Los Angeles and/or California. The Sr. Manager will serve as a leader and point of contact for UNITE-LA among collaborative partners and community members, primarily supporting the organizing and convening of local educational, business, and civic leaders dedicated to developing strong pathways from K-12 through postsecondary to careers for communities that face barriers to success. The Sr. Manager will influence and drive change through these relationships and play a vital role in fundraising, data analysis, communications, and strategic partnerships.
