UNITE-LA and the Los Angeles Digital Equity Action League (LA DEAL) advanced a coordinated, countywide approach to digital equity—aligning cities, community organizations, public agencies and residents around strategies to expand access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet.

In 2025, LA DEAL:
- Strengthened local government readiness to expand broadband access by recruiting municipal leaders from 10 cities to participate in broadband permitting training to streamline regulations and accelerating deployment.
- Deployed more than $200,000 to these municipalities to purchase new computing devices for community centers and libraries.
- Launched two technical assistance partnerships, including the LISC Broadband Help Hub award and the Michelson 20MM Digital Equity Spark Grant, that resulted in community-led broadband planning projects in Pico Union, Lynwood, Huntington Park, Pacoima and the Antelope Valley.
- LISC’s Broadband Technical support generated highly valuable engineering plans for a $25 million broadband project in the Antelope Valley through a partnership with the Antelope Valley High School District.
- The 20MM Spark Grant allowed for the formation and development of the Pacoima Broadband Taskforce that will conduct a needs assessment and a broadband plan in 2026.
