With ongoing support from the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), Cash for College (CFC) continues to increase postsecondary attainment and promote a college-going culture across greater Los Angeles.
With support from CSAC, from October to March, L.A. CFC offers mobilized, financial aid completion workshops throughout L.A. in partnership with local high schools, colleges and community-based organizations. L.A. CFC and CSAC provide different series of training sessions dedicated to providing volunteers with the content knowledge necessary to successfully provide one-on-one assistance to students completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
CSAC's partnership with L.A. CFC spans more than two decades, having served tens of thousands of students, families and communities across the L.A. region. Through our collaboration with CSAC last year, more than 3,200 youth completed financial aid applications, with 72 percent of LAUSD high school seniors completing their FAFSA or CADAA applications. This was significantly above the California completion rate of 52.1 percent and shows a strong recovery after declines in the early pandemic years.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with CSAC at our annual L.A. CFC College & Career Fair, where we will amplify the Commission's statewide FAFSA and CADAA completion goals and celebrate its #Allin4FinancialAid Campaign!
