Carrie Lemmon, UNITE-LA’s senior vice president of Systems Change Strategy, highlighted how various investments and funding streams dedicated to workforce development can be leveraged to support these efforts. The crucial role of intermediaries was underscored in bridging the gap between schools, workforce boards and employers, emphasizing their importance and coordinating aligned efforts. UNITE-LA’s President, Alysia Bell, is co-chair of the CSN Executive Committee and leading the development of a workforce-focused session at the upcoming California Economic Summit, taking place in Sacramento from Oct. 8-10.
