Case Manager, Health Care
[email protected]Destiny Lopez (she/her) works with UNITE-LA as a case manager. She supports UNITE-LA’s My Pathway to Health program and connects youth to career pathways in allied health. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting them through career exploration, training and job placements.
Lopez is a Los Angeles native and a first-generation college graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at California State University, Long Beach, in May 2020. After her undergraduate studies, she obtained roles as a youth employment specialist and a career advisor at Para Los Niños, where she gained experience in workforce development. Within the HIRE LA’s Youth program, she has connected youth with paid work experience and has provided necessary resources to help them navigate their academic and future careers. Before joining UNITE-LA, she was a health care recruiter and assisted with hiring caregivers, certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and registered nurses (RAs) to provide personal care for individuals with chronic and acute illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.
