English/Dual Language Learners (EL/DLL) programs in California are a critical vehicle for remaining the fifth largest economy in the world and accomplishing the state’s Global California 2030 goals, which look to equip students with the tools to ensure all Californians can thrive and succeed in the global economy.

California is home to a diverse population of residents who speak the majority of languages heard in the world. As the world becomes more interconnected, fluency in other languages opens up opportunities for people to succeed economically and allows them to take part in diverse cultural activities, advancing social, cultural and economic growth across California.
