UNITE-LA is a proud partner of the Southern California Apprenticeship Network (SCAN), a network of businesses and employers, educators, workforce agencies, community-based organizations, labor and other interested organizations growing apprenticeship programs throughout Southern California. This quarter, we have helped drive several key initiatives, reflecting our commitment to expanding high-quality apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities across the region.
In partnership with the LAUNCH Network, UNITE-LA recently led a four-part webinar series on apprenticeships. Each session drew approximately 40 organizations, reflecting strong interest from the field. Designed to support small nonprofit organizations exploring apprenticeship opportunities, the series laid the groundwork for deeper regional engagement. The team also launched DESIGN, REGISTER, LAUNCH: The Apprenticeship Bootcamp in June. The new series offers guided support to a cohort of apprenticeship newcomers, helping them take the necessary steps to establish new registered programs.
Additionally, UNITE-LA co-hosted the SCAN monthly mixer to wrap up June. Approximately 35 L.A. County employers, educators, community-based organizations, apprenticeship professionals and public sector leaders gathered at a local small business, Bonsai Coffee Bar, in West Los Angeles for an evening of food, drinks and meaningful connection. The next SCAN mixer is on July 22, offering another opportunity to connect with apprenticeship leaders and explore potential partnerships.
