At UNITE-LA, we are proud to support young professionals as they take meaningful steps toward bright and impactful futures. One shining example is Ruby Nava, a 2024 graduate of our My Pathway to Health program.

After earning her EKG Technician certification in October 2024, Ruby began interning at Cedars-Sinai as a Youth Employment & Development Worker in the Oncology Department. In her role, Ruby supported staff by tracking licensure statuses and flagging any lapses—demonstrating responsibility and initiative. Her dedication didn’t go unnoticed: with her supervisor’s encouragement and offer to serve as a reference, Ruby applied for an EKG Technician position at Cedars-Sinai. After a successful interview, she was officially offered the job. We’re incredibly proud of Ruby’s journey—from program graduate to health care professional—and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
