Here, Brown supports the mission of commitment to providing students and families from underserved communities with the resources for the best quality of life. Brown is responsible for communications, development, policy and engagement with local, state and national partnerships to increase the reach and raise operational resources and awareness for early childhood education.
Brown is an award-winning communications professional with more than 17 years of experience in multimedia marketing, public relations, community engagement, fund development, human resource management, professional and community events. Her career has spanned working in nonprofit and corporate environments for companies such as Disney ABC Television, Los Angeles Times, The Nielsen Company, California State University Long Beach (CSULB), the United States Air Force and Habitat for Humanity.
Brown received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Dance from California State University, Dominguez Hill and her master’s degree in Public Administration with a certificate in Human Resource Management/Personnel Administration from CSULB. She is also certified in public relations, and meeting and event management.
Brown currently volunteers as a youth mentor throughout Los Angeles and is also a small-business owner of an event planning and design company. In her spare time, Brown enjoys reading books and challenges herself with an annual goal of reading 52 books a year.
