UNITE-LA has been bringing thousands of students together for the past 18 years at the L.A. Cash for College Convention to help them access financial aid resources in order to pursue their post-secondary goals. Did COVID-19 change the way we did our Cash for College convention? Yes. Did it stop our efforts for the 2020-21 school year? Not for a moment. We offered several virtual workshops that included information on financial aid access and college and career preparation. We brought together financial aid experts from local colleges who provided an inside look at how to pay for school and gave students an edge in completing the FAFSA, California Dream Act, the L.A.
