Madison Palmer

Senior Manager, Equity Initiatives

Madison Palmer, Senior Manager of Equity Initiatives, is responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with education, business and community-based leaders to advocate for equity and inclusion in related spaces. With a focus on digital equity, Palmer coordinates tactics between UNITE- LA’s Policy, Program and System teams to create new opportunities to work with key stakeholders in equitable and inclusive education and workforce development efforts.

Palmer found a passion for diversity and equity during a career in alcohol, drug and violence prevention in higher education where she created programing and educated higher education professionals to stay within the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act. She also ensured schools met funding requirements to provide educational resources on college campuses regarding alcohol and drugs. Through discovering student experiences, her position shifted from creating general programming to creating programing that would help faculty and staff better support minority students at every level of the higher education experience.

Palmer has two master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring museums and creating art through painting. Palmer is also a makeup artist who specializes in wedding makeup in her spare time.
