Senior Director, Public Grant Administration
213.325.1505 | [email protected]Maria Dolores Nieto serves as Senior Director of Public Grant Administration. In her previous role, Nieto oversaw finances as part of UNITE-LA's Accounting team; collaborated with the City of L.A.’s Community Development Department and the Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for HIRE LA’s Youth; and was also responsible for the business development of L.A. Youth at Work and the coordination of the private sector summer internships.
Prior to joining UNITE-LA, Nieto worked for McDonald’s corporate office, supervising five stores and managing a $10 million operation with 300 employees. There, she learned the skills needed to connect with the business community and helped ease her transition into nonprofit work. Nieto then worked for the Archdiocesan Youth Employment Services of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. as an Area Manager.
Nieto received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge, attained an accounting certificate at University of California, Los Angeles Extension and completed the Leadership L.A. program. When Nieto is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching baseball and destressing by cooking up a good meal.
