Manager, Postsecondary Systems
213.325.1532 | [email protected]As the Manager of Postsecondary Systems, Matthew Moor supports L.A. Compact’s College Access portfolio. Specifically, he supports the work of the Postsecondary Transitions Workgroup, Associate Degree for Transfer and Foster Youth College Promise initiative, which encourages foster youth to apply for the L.A. College Promise, and working on implementing a communication and marketing strategy to improve enrollment.
Originally from the San Fernando Valley, Moor graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Sociology and a minor in Education Studies. Moor later earned his Master of Arts degree in Education with a concentration in Equity and Social Justice at San Francisco State University.
His passion for improving college enrollment and completion for first-generation college students, like himself, began during his time as a College Summit Peer Leader in high school. Upon entering UCSD, he was selected to participate in the Office of Academic Support and Instructional Service’s (OASIS) Summer Bridge Program. This transformational program led him to later hold various college access roles where he supported first-generation students with navigating the financial aid process, writing personal statements and student advocacy.
For fun, Moor enjoys napping with his cat, Fern, and teaching his puppy, Artie, new tricks.
