As announced earlier this year, UNITE-LA is honored to have longtime board member Efrain Escobedo take the reins as the new Chair of our Board of Directors. Our team feels privileged to have another incredible leader at the helm of our Board of Directors.

As President & CEO of the Center for Nonprofit Management, Escobedo is dedicated to increasing civic engagement in historically underserved communities and transforming systems with a human-centered approach. With nearly two decades of cross-sector experience in philanthropy, government and nonprofits, Escobedo’s commitment to empowering local communities and fostering impactful partnerships will undoubtedly strengthen UNITE-LA’s mission in Los Angeles and beyond.

Additionally, UNITE-LA is deeply grateful for the incredible leadership of former LACCD Chancellor Dr. Francisco Rodriguez, who preceded Escobedo, generously serving as UNITE-LA’s Board Chair for four years. We celebrate Dr. Rodriguez, who recently retired as chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District. His thoughtful and compassionate leadership continues to make an indelible mark on our organization, as we continue to benefit from his engagement as a board member at large.
