As UNITE-LA’s Funder Spotlight of the Month, we are proud to recognize ECMC Foundation for its steadfast commitment to expanding pathways to postsecondary and career success for all learners. Through two significant recent investments in UNITE-LA’s work, ECMC is helping advance systems change that removes barriers and expands opportunity for students across California.

With ECMC’s support, UNITE-LA is working to strengthen outcomes for parenting students, a historically underserved population that often faces challenges related to affordability, child care and access to critical supports needed to complete their educational goals. This work seeks to build awareness, align cross-sector stakeholders and advance investments that help parenting students thrive in higher education and achieve long-term economic mobility for themselves and their families.

ECMC has also championed a project to establish a statewide framework for high-quality work-based learning, helping address the fragmented systems, limited infrastructure and inequitable access that currently constrain opportunities for students. Through research, coalition building and education and awareness campaigns, this initiative is laying the groundwork for a coordinated statewide approach that connects more learners to meaningful career-connected experiences and stronger pathways into high-quality jobs.

Together, these investments reflect ECMC Foundation’s vision that every student, regardless of circumstance, should have access to the support, experiences and opportunities needed to achieve educational success and economic mobility. We are grateful for partners like you!
