On April 30, UNITE-LA President, Alysia Bell, and staff members traveled to the state Capitol for a day of meetings with legislative staff and state agency partners.
The purpose of the trip was to elevate UNITE-LA's work and key state policy priorities, including advocacy for our co-sponsored bills AB 753 and SB 590 and a budget request that extends the work of the L.A. Region K-16 Collaborative. The UNITE-LA team was also able to showcase work advancing economic mobility in the L.A. region and across the state via our partnerships with business organizations. Conversations elevated UNITE-LA's programmatic and systems work and uplifted the need to support early care and education and intersegmental connectivity among K-12, higher education and workforce.
