The arrival of June brought the recognition of Immigrant Heritage Month. UNITE-LA President Alysia Bell helped kick it off by participating in-person at the third annual Los Angeles Immigration Summit on the Future of Immigrants: Intersections, Justice & Power, featuring bold campaigns and new data on the state of immigrants in L.A. She was joined by the California Community Foundation, Weingart Foundation, Immigrants are LA, and USC’s Equity Research Institute. The two-day event brought together more than 200 immigrant rights leaders and advocates from multiple sectors—education, nonprofit, business and philanthropy—to learn and discuss bold initiatives that are building immigrant integration in Los Angeles.
