UNITE-LA was honored to be invited by the California Workforce Development Board and the Foundation for California Community Colleges to present at the two-day Breaking Barriers site visit in late March.
The event was hosted by our partner, Per Scholas, in their new tech training space in Downtown Los Angeles. UNITE-LA provided an overview of our organization and the career pathway programs supported by the Breaking Barriers initiative, as well as a deep dive into the Step into Tech (SIT) program, highlighting its collaborative model and the various partnerships that are integral to its success. A panel discussion featured key Step into Tech partners, including NPower, our tech training partner; IH Communications, our employer partner; and Rene Menchaca, a UNITE-LA SIT and NPower program participant.
