Access to affordable, high-quality child care is essential for both family well-being and workforce participation. Last month, UNITE-LA's Senior Vice President of Education Policy and Public Affairs, Sonia Campos-Rivera, joined an expert panel at the City of Los Angeles Early Care and Education (ECE) Expo to discuss the role local governments can play in expanding child care access and strengthening support for working families.

As cities across the country explore solutions to address child care challenges, the panel highlighted how local leaders can leverage partnerships, policy tools and economic development strategies to support families, providers and employers. Sonia shared insights on the impact of child care on workforce participation, UNITE-LA's work with business and economic development leaders and data showing the economic benefits of investing in child care systems.
