This summer, UNITE-LA launched the Emerging Leaders program, a paid initiative for alumni of the My Pathway to Health and Step into Tech programs, allowing them to mentor new cohorts and gain leadership experience.

Our inaugural Emerging Leaders, Jennifer Ajanel, a medical assistant, and Brittney Castillo, a CNA at Dignity Health, have actively contributed as mentors, career speakers and mock interviewers and will take a course on stakeholder engagement. Participants will receive 10 hours of experience and a $250 stipend. For the upcoming fall session of Step into Tech, two alumni have been confirmed as Emerging Leaders, with one expressing excitement about sharing experiences and contributing to the program's success.
