If you know UNITE-LA, you know we are supported by the most extraordinary, dedicated board of directors. With that, we want to call your attention to two outstanding members in particular this month.
Bill Allen retired in January from his role as president and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation - a role he served with incredible success. Los Angeles County was not only proud to have him in this leadership position, we were better because of it. The same can be said for his tenure on the UNITE-LA board. As Alysia Bell, UNITE-LA president, said, "UNITE-LA is eternally grateful for the leadership, partnership and mentorship Bill Allen has generously provided to our team. From his years of service on our Board, to his strategic leadership and partnership on the LA DEAL, and his critical collaboration in statewide coalitions, Bill continues to leave a mark on our organization and throughout the state." From all of us at UNITE-LA, thank you, Bill!
In January, the Center for Nonprofit Management announced UNITE-LA board member, Efrain Escobedo, as their president and CEO, starting this month. They noted, "Efrain's deep experience working with government, philanthropy, civic leaders and local communities will help shape CNM's next exciting chapter." You can read their full news release to learn more. In addition to this fabulous news, Efrain was voted UNITE-LA board vice chair. We are so thrilled to have such fabulous leadership working with us for all L.A. area youth.
