Marion Colston, senior director of Workforce Programs at L.A. Metro, invited UNITE-LA to participate in the celebration of Metro’s 24th Transportation Career Academy Program (TCAP) internship with 133 high school students who focused on career and academic exploration in the transportation industry. The TCAP program was designed to teach students to explore the selected topics in transportation that align with their career and academic pursuits. We were proud to have Leng Ear, UNITE-LA senior program coordinator, L.A. Youth at Work, participate as one of the student team leads in the virtual programming. Through this partnership, UNITE-LA serves as an intermediary partner to build and strengthen the core competencies with youth participants with career preparedness for the internship opportunities.
