Over the past two years, UNITE-LA’s National Strategic Partnerships Team has been providing technical assistance to 11 rural chambers of commerce across the country through ACCE Foundation’s Economic Mobility for Rural Workers cohort.
These communities have been building pathways to support low-income workers and learners in accessing well-paying, high-demand jobs and piloting strategies in work-based learning, credential alignment and one-stop shops for employment services. This comprehensive resource guide, assembled from the cohort learnings, assembles a wide array of resources to support sustainable pathways for economic advancement in rural areas with tools for data gathering, systems-change, pilot approaches and storytelling. UNITE-LA led a recent ACCE webinar featuring two participating chambers from Colorado and South Carolina, who shared their successes and actionable strategies with their chamber peers invested in championing rural economic mobility.
