UNITE-LA’s College Access/Cash for College team kicked off the new academic year with renewed energy and a strong commitment to removing barriers and expanding postsecondary opportunities for Los Angeles students.

In September, the team conducted outreach to 500 schools and engaged with 20 new prospective partners through meetings and presentations on college affordability. UNITE-LA coordinated financial literacy trainings with FamilySource and YouthSource Centers while deepening collaboration and aligning priorities with LACOE, United Friends of the Children, DCFS, CSAC and Cal-SOAP. Additionally, we are finalizing dates for regional college-bridging events designed to build a more confident, seamless transition from high school to college at five of our L.A. Region K-16 Collaborative college campuses.
