Recently, two of our team members presented on financial aid options to 300 members of the Angeleno Corps, a Mayoral program in which community college students and YouthSource Center enrollees earn $1,000 a month and additional scholarships for part-time work in high-yield sectors. In the hour-long presentation and Q&A, students were introduced or refreshed on topics relating to FAFSA/CADAA completion, responsibilities and options of students and families, the realities of student loans and repayment, and more. Students inquired about communicating with financial aid offices, timeframes in which aid is available, types of programs in which aid is available, and how to get the most out of state, federal and private money.
