UNITE-LA Today: Graduating Ready for Success

On Oct. 26, the Los Angeles Unified Board of Education voted to unanimously approve Board Vice President Nick Melvoin's resolution to achieve the District's goal of all graduating students completing a post-graduation plan and college financial aid application to set them up for success after high school. The resolution calls to increase resources and collaboration to implement the new state requirement for all high school seniors to complete the FAFSA or the California Dream Act application for undocumented students.

We at UNITE-LA are thrilled with this news, and congratulate the Board on this effort! We know work like this will ensure that every child – no matter his or her financial status – has the opportunity to pursue higher education resulting in dreams fulfilled. Read the press release for all the details!
