Last month, UNITE-LA and the California EDGE Coalition were both selected to take part in the National Skills Coalition’s newly launched Racial Equity Learning Group to support Skills State Policy Advocacy Network (SkillSPAN) and Business Leaders United (BLU) affiliate leaders in advancing state-specific skills policy frameworks and coalition development using a racial equity lens. The Racial Equity Learning Group will build upon this work and provide the SkillSPAN coalitions and BLU state affiliates with the knowledge, tools and support to advocate for policies that advance racial equity in the workforce development system. UNITE-LA is excited to engage in the learning community sessions and individualized coaching to learn how to apply a racial equity lens to our respective work and advance state policies that promote racial equity.
