UNITE-LA Today: Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off Sept. 15 and concluded on Oct. 15. UNITE-LA created a social media campaign to celebrate the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture and achievements of the United States. The celebration is intended to honor those who are from Latin America and the Caribbean regions. In addition, UNITE-LA is highlighting our Dual Language Learning work in this campaign. With California being home to the largest population of Hispanics and Latinx, English/Dual Language Learners programs in California are a critical vehicle for remaining the fifth largest economy in the world. We are encouraging you to support the development of additional English/Dual Language Learner programs that ensure students remain globally competitive.
