In July, the City of Los Angeles Economic & Workforce Development Department (EWDD) and the L.A. Opportunity Youth Collaborative (OYC), of which UNITE-LA is a partner, convened the third Horizons 32K Stewardship Board meeting.
Board members received a series of updates highlighting the progress made across the collaborative’s efforts over the past quarter. The meeting featured reflections from our Young Leaders, who shared insights from their recent participation in key spaces and events. The OYC team also provided updates on the Horizons 32K Impact Initiatives—High School Transitions, Earn & Learn and Holistic Supports—detailing milestones reached and upcoming priorities. In addition, critical partners provided updates from EWDD, LAUSD and the L.A. County Department of Mental Health, which included a discussion on the latest budget developments at the city, county, state and federal levels, and how these shifts are influencing our collective work and the implementation of the Horizons 32K Strategic Plan.
