In late July, UNITE-LA's National Strategic Partnership team traveled to Indianapolis to provide education and workforce development programming to more than 1,000 chamber professionals, attending the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' (ACCE) Annual Convention.
Some of the sessions that the UNITE-LA team coordinated and oversaw focused on how chambers could drive education and workforce outcomes through leadership in collective impact initiatives, use their chamber foundations for community impact, advance employment of individuals with the greatest barriers in their communities, promote skills-based hiring, and develop local talent in high-growth industries. Additionally, staff held a lunchtime meet-up for Education and Talent Development Division fellows and alumni of previous cohorts, the Smart Justice community and members participating in several of our current grants. It was a great opportunity to share updates on current work and career/role changes.
