  • Making the Case for Work-Based Learning:The Power of Work-Based Learning report released by Strada Education Network emphasizes the value of increasing access to paid internships. The report identifies features that factor into student success post-graduation that help strengthen the talent pipeline.
  • Effectively Spending Stimulus Dollars: McKinsey & Company released an article highlighting that $130 billion of the $190 billion federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Funds needs to be allocated over the next three budget cycles. Chambers can provide support to school districts on how to spend funds effectively and equitably.
  • Investing in the Infrastructure Workforce: Brookings Institute released an article highlighting the investment opportunities for infrastructure but warned that we would be remiss to focus on future job creation without addressing current workforce challenges. The article provides a map to grow the future and current infrastructure workforce.
  • Calling Attention to Unequal Access: Benton Institute reported on a number of studies conducted last year that show internet pricing discrimination in low-income communities across the country, which creates barriers for those who need it most to access education, job opportunities and other resources.
  • Driving Economic Advancement Through Justice Reform: The Kentucky Chamber, in partnership with Responsible Business Initiative for Justice, co-hosted a webinar on how chambers can engage in justice reform, advance equity and expand the workforce. Watch the recording to learn how you can prepare your existing justice-involved workforce for the labor market.
