At the California Public Utilities Commission’s 2025 Annual California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Workshop, UNITE-LA Executive Vice President Amy Cortina participated as a panelist to discuss how the Los Angeles Digital Equity Action League (LA DEAL), of which UNITE-LA co-convenes with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, is addressing broadband gaps across L.A. County through improved mapping, alternative internet service provider models and community-driven planning.
She highlighted projects such as Destination Crenshaw and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) Welcome Center, which incorporate broadband into local redevelopment projects.
