On June 30, UNITE-LA and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) co-hosted a regional lunch and learn to convene subregional leads and partners for an energizing conversation on advancing work-based learning (WBL) across the L.A. region.
In addition to LAEDC’s updates on key labor market needs, UNITE-LA shared updates on the L.A. Region K-16 Collaborative, including a no-cost extension through 2028 and expanded flexibility in pathway design, creating new opportunities to align with California Jobs First priority sectors. UNITE-LA and LAEDC will continue to support regional WBL planning and supplement local efforts with employer engagement strategies through 2028, reinforcing a sustained continuum of support that builds on collective momentum and strengthens student access to high-quality, career-connected learning.
