UNITE-LA Today: Multilingualism at the Forefront

Last month, UNITE-LA hosted California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond, for our first Education Means Business webinar under the leadership of UNITE-LA President, Alysia Bell. Sponsored by First 5 LA, the webinar covered many current, relevant topics, including Dual Language Learners and English Language Learners, specifically how the state is working to strengthen multilingual skills for our students and how investments in this area will help equip them to participate and thrive in our diverse, global economy. Read more in our one-pager, Strengthening Regional Economies by Investing in the Education of English/Dual Language Learners. If you were not able to attend, please feel free to watch it on YouTube!

We are especially grateful for the support of the California African American Chamber of Commerce, California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce, World Trade Center Los Angeles and the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce.
