On Thursday, Dec. 4, UNITE-LA hosted its final Education Means Business webinar of 2025 that focused on the state of early care and education amid budget cuts and financial challenges at the federal and state levels.
The webinar featured a conversation with Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry and a panel discussion with Bianca Blomquist of Small Business Majority and Donna Sneeringer of Child Care Resource Center, both facilitated by Kelly Reynolds, director, Education and Workforce Strategy & Policy at UNITE-LA. Key takeaways from the discussion focused on the importance of viewing child care as critical economic infrastructure, not just passing but implementing bills and the need for collaboration on advocacy across nontraditional partners, including the business community. A recording of the conversation is available here.
As business is a critical voice needed at the advocacy table to elevate the importance of investment in child care, we are grateful to the six business organizations that partnered with us on this session.
