UNITE-LA Today: Remember Searching for that Summer Job?

We are thrilled to announced that JPMorgan Chase has awarded UNITE-LA $300,000 to continue strengthening L.A.’s youth workforce through our Summer Youth Employment programming. Specifically, the grant supports our work to provide virtual, hybrid and in-person services (contingent upon the state of the COVID-19 pandemic) to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) youth from communities most vulnerable to youth disconnection rates, low educational attainment, and under employment, with a stated objective of BIPOC groups comprising 80 percent of program participants. We will work with employers to integrate technology into youth-centered programming. The program has an explicit focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) based curriculum and will match youth participants with employers focused on those sectors. Our many thanks to JPMorgan Chase for their continued backing in our efforts to help area youth!
