UNITE-LA Today: Spring 2025 Los Angeles Regional Cleantech Career Academy

UNITE-LA's spring 2025 cohort of the Los Angeles Regional Cleantech Career Academy (Academy), made up of 45 students, 18-24 years old, is spending 12 weeks learning about essential skills, industry sectors, local employers and career pathways into the emerging clean energy economy.

In early April, our students visited West Basin Municipal Water District’s recycling treatment plant, where they had the opportunity to identify career pathways and training within water infrastructure. Through the Academy, our goal is to develop a diverse, inclusive and local workforce to meet the industry’s talent pipeline needs. Since the Academy’s inception, 181 students have completed the program, 90 have been awarded $1,000 scholarships to support their continued higher education goals, and we have facilitated 27 internships through our employer partners.
