On Saturday, June 29, L.A. Cash for College hosted its scholarship reception, Dollars for Scholars. The program celebrated awarding $30,000 in scholarships this year, and we were joined by eight of our scholars and their families.

UNITE-LA President, Alysia Bell, welcomed the crowd, and LACCD Chancellor and UNITE-LA Board Chair, Dr. Francisco Rodriguez, and Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez (CD 1) inspired the students with their remarks. The program also welcomed partners from LAUSD and Royal Business Bank. And our thanks to the City of L.A.’s Youth Development Department, led by our board member, Lisa Salazar, and Councilmember Hernandez for helping us celebrate these students in such a wonderful location - L.A. City Hall’s Tom Bradley Observation Tower. The tone for the day was set by an incredible quartet of young musicians through UNITE-LA’s partnership with Kid City.
