UNITE-LA Vice President of Research and Evaluation, Dr. Lisa Catanzarite, presented UNITE-LA’s upcoming Business Immigration Report at the Supporting the Immigrant Workforce: HRTP Strategies for Workers and Employers webinar, which brought together 70+ attendees and was co-hosted by Building Skills Partnership (BSP) and the UC Berkeley Labor Center.

BSP shared its strong model for immigrant inclusion through legal services and worker-led initiatives like “Cafecitos” and advisory committees that center worker voice. Our UNITE-LA report greatly complemented these efforts by bringing the business perspective to the conversation, highlighting key survey findings that demonstrated broad support for immigrant inclusion, multilingual workforce development and the importance of cross-sector partnerships. The conversation made clear that centering immigrant voices, engaging employers and aligning cross-sector strategies are essential to building a workforce system that is both equitable and resilient in the face of shifting policy landscapes.
