On April 16, UNITE-LA joined L.A. City Mayor Karen Bass and city leaders at an environmental stakeholder meeting at Los Angeles City Hall to help inform the City’s forthcoming Climate Implementation Plan.
The convening brought together public, private and community partners to align on priorities for advancing climate action, strengthening infrastructure and building more resilient communities across Los Angeles.
During the session, UNITE-LA highlighted the critical role of workforce development in achieving the City’s climate goals through its LA Regional Cleantech Career Academy. By preparing a diverse pipeline of talent for high-growth, climate-related careers, UNITE-LA is helping ensure that climate investments translate into inclusive economic opportunity, environmental justice and long-term community resilience.
As Los Angeles advances its climate agenda, partnerships like these are essential to connecting policy to practice—ensuring that bold environmental goals also create tangible benefits for communities and pathways to quality careers for the next generation.
