Last month, UNITE-LA was with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in Detroit hosting the annual Education & Talent Convening for 30 dedicated education and workforce chamber professionals from across the country.
The Detroit Regional Chamber, as the hosting organization, was able to share their groundbreaking higher education partnerships, including college access, work-based learning and innovative, employer-led partnerships educating both K-12 and adult learners. The tour around Detroit included site visits to the Apple Developer Academy, a partnership between Michigan State University and Apple, and Google’s Code Next Detroit at Michigan Central. Both programs provide free, industry-led curriculum for tech pathway careers.
